They/Them

Hana/Shy Hubicki is an art therapist that offers individual psychotherapy. Their practice is informed by anti-oppressive frameworks grounded in intersectionality, disability justice and queer ecology.

They believe in the power of connecting to one’s innate wisdom and are passionate in supporting individuals navigating healing, self-discovery and empowerment.

Their approach to healing is deeply rooted in the anti-oppressive lens of disability justice that supports “life models that encompass falling apart and reforming not as a failure but as a life pathway” (Piepzna-Samarasinha, 2018). Hana/Shy believes in the importance of breathing life into resilience, acknowledging and celebrating fractures and seams, honouring survival, and building narratives imbued with life-giving knowledge. It is Hana/Shy’s hope to provide a therapeutic space that fosters safety, reflection and possibilities for liberation.

Hana/Shy also has a deep love for the non-human world and recognizes that ecological entanglement can lead to a deeper connection with our environment and ourselves to support sustainable and informed responses to our own grief, trauma and/or climate anxiety.
